SOCIAL JUSTICE DISCERNMENT GROUP

How can you join in St. Peter’s Social Justice efforts? Our Social Justice Discernment Group meets monthly at the St. Peter’s Parish House. Its work focuses on four main justice issues: Immigration, LGBTQIA+ rights, Healthcare (focus on women’s reproductive rights), and Food Sovereignty. All are welcome!

Stay informed about legislation, pray with your pens, and make good trouble your way!

We have prepared a list of resources where you can find out about local and national legislation, sign up to receive action alerts about pending legislation, and generally stay informed in this rapidly changing national environment. We welcome any additions to this list that you may support. Send info to Barbara at [email protected].

  • Episcopal Community Services (ecsphilly.org): Sign up to receive JustNow, a newsletter with local legislation, and can access the Advocacy Action Center, a simple way to contact local legislators.
  • Episcopal Church Office of Government Relations (episcopalchurch.org/ministries/office-government-relations): Sign up for a weekly network call and Action Alerts.
  • Indivisible Philadelphia (indivisiblephiladelphia.com): Access multiple ongoing actions, including letter writing to companies to address the use of immigrant detention center labor and support for local initiatives and candidates.
