Job Opening: Full-Time Rector

Job Announcement: Bass Staff Singer

St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, located at 313 Pine Street in Philadelphia, PA, is seeking a dedicated and talented Bass Staff Singer to join our vibrant and welcoming music ministry. If you are passionate about choral music and desire to contribute to a thriving worship community, we invite you to apply.

Responsibilities:

  • Attend and actively participate in Sunday morning rehearsals at 9:30 AM.
  • Sing at the Sunday Eucharist service at 11:00 AM.
  • Attend afternoon rehearsals following the Sunday service from 12:15 PM to 1:15 PM.
  • Lead the bass section of the church choir during rehearsals and worship services.
  • Provide musical leadership and support to fellow choir members, fostering a collaborative and cohesive ensemble.
  • Maintain a professional and punctual presence, attending all scheduled rehearsals and worship services.

Qualifications:

  • Availability to commit to the choir season, which runs from September 8, 2024, through June 8, 2025.
  • Demonstrated proficiency as a bass singer, with excellent vocal technique and
    musicianship skills.
  • Extensive experience in choral singing, preferably in a church or liturgical setting.
  • Ability to read and interpret choral scores accurately.
  • Strong sight-reading skills and the ability to learn new music efficiently.
  • Familiarity with a variety of sacred choral repertoire.
  • Commitment to maintaining and improving vocal technique through regular practice and study.

Compensation:

  • Competitive compensation will be offered, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
