Preaching the Gospel to the Ends of the Earth: The Acts of the Apostles

Acts of the Apostles is a continuation of the record begun in the Gospel of Luke. It begins with the disciples asking Jesus when he will restore the Kingdom of Israel.  Jesus responds that it’s none of their business, but that the Holy Spirit will give them power to go be his witnesses to the ends of the earth. (Acts 1:8)  With astonishing, terrible and beautiful stories, the rest of the book of Acts describes just how the disciples carry out that extraordinary task.

Pentecost is the official birthday of the church.  This Pentecost season, join Rev. Laurie to reflect on what the first disciples have to share with us about being “the church”  in a world so desperately in need of Good News.
