Sages Gathering

November 19 @ 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm

Sages is an energetic group of retired parishioners who meet monthly on a Wednesday for lunch and discussion. Often the meeting is accompanied by a presentation from authors, leaders in the arts, and other people of interest. All ages are welcome to attend, and friends are always welcome.

Our guest for November: Building Conservation Associates, Inc. (BCA), located at 242 Cherry Street in Old City, Philadelphia, specializes in both the technical and historical aspects of restoring buildings and works of art. Dorothy Krotzer, Director, and Kate Whitney-Schubb, Staff Conservator, will present on the recently completed grave marker conservation project. They will share details of the year-long project, which involved identifying the most damaged markers followed by the stabilization and restoration of 27 grave markers within St. Peter’s churchyard. The presentation will cover the conservation techniques BCA used to treat the markers, along with discussing the challenges and obstacles the team faced and how they were successfully overcome.

Bring a brown bag lunch! Hope to see you!
