Bible Study: Following the Lectionary through Lent

The Revised Common Lectionary is a three year calendar of prescribed, Scriptural texts that many Christian denominations, including the Episcopal Church, use for Sunday worship. The lectionary during Lent is particularly rich, but it’s rare that a preacher can fit all four readings from the Hebrew Bible, Psalms, Epistle and Gospel into any 15-minute sermon.
During Lent, consider joining Rev. Laurie and the St. Peter’s Bible study regulars as they take an early, deeper, and lingering look at the upcoming Sunday readings. Chances are these sacred texts and their connections to each other will enrich your experience of the church’s Lenten journey through the wilderness of hope lost into new the promise of astonishing joy and new life.
