LENT & HOLY WEEK

We invite everyone to journey with us through the season of Lent. You are welcome to worship with us at our 11 AM Church Service or at our 9 AM Family Service;  join with us for Wednesday morning prayer on Zoom;  walk our Stations on the Street, or attend a special event or small group. We hope there is something that will interest you and engage you this Lenten season.

Lenten Morning Prayer

8 a.m. Wednesdays on Zoom
Join Rev. Sarah on Wednesday mornings for a time of prayer and reflection. Our guide and grounding will be "The Lives We Actually Have: 100 Blessings for Imperfect Days" by Jessica Ritchie and Kate Bowler. We will gather for around 20-30 minutes, using Bowler’s Lenten group study guide. We will walk us through the theme and reflection for that week. We will pray. Hear a blessing. Then, for those who would like to stay on, we will have a short group discussion

Stations on the Street

Along Pine Street between Third & Fourth
We have installed Stations of the Cross outdoors on our brick wall along Pine Street and welcome you to walk the stations this Lent. The images for the stations this year were created by artist Scott Erickson and each is accompanied by a reading and meditation, which you can access at the outdoor stations of the cross with a QR code.

Journeying with All-Star Seekers

10 a.m. Sundays March 5, 12, 19 & 26
This year, St. Peter’s is living into Lent through the theme of Seeking. By focusing on this theme, we can unpack big questions in ways that are honest and faithful. Asking ourselves often: What am I seeking? What is God seeking? To do that, it makes sense to spend some time with all-star seekers! Join Rev. Sarah as she dives into the writings and other resources of faith leaders who are seeking a closer connection with God and neighbor in imaginative and authentic ways.

Family Worship During Lent

9 a.m. Sundays through April 2
At this special service for families with children age 8 and younger, we hear stories about Jesus encountering people who are seeking: a new beginning, a different life, a deeper faith. We will connect with these stories and this season through storytelling with visual and tangible materials, space for curiosity and wonder, and engaging more through crafts, books, and games.

TNT Discipleship Group

7-8:30 p.m. Wednesdays on Zoom through March 29
TNT discipleship groups are small groups of folks in their 20s/30s who want to have intentional conversations about faith, theology, and day-to-day living. This is a space to share and explore the feelings, thoughts, and questions that come from all of that.

Holy Week Services

April 2 through April 7
Journey with St. Peter's through Holy Week starting with our 11 a.m. Palm Sunday Service on April 2. During Holy Week, join us for daily services and Maundy Thursday, leading to Good Friday services on April 7.

Family Holy Week Service

9 a.m. Sunday, April 2
This service, designed for families with young children, will begin with Jesus entering Jerusalem and take us through the last supper (with foot washing!) and Good Friday. Experiences these stories in a new way, with a focus on children and how they can enter into Holy Week grounded in God’s love, which is stronger than anything.

Good Friday

Multiple services on Friday, April 7
There are several different ways to observe Good Friday this year. At noon, we will gather for an ancient service focused on the story of Jesus’ death and prayers venerating the Cross. Then at 1 p.m. Rev. Sarah Hedgis-Kligerman will lead us through a Walking Stations of the Cross, followed by a Service of Silence & Sorrow at 2 p.m.

Easter Worship Services

9 a.m. & 11 a.m. Sunday, April 9
All are welcome to join us to celebrate Easter Sunday! There will be a simple service at 9 a.m. and a festive service with choir at 11 a.m. Join us after the 11 a.m. service for a reception in the churchyard and an Easter egg hunt for children.

Easter Celebration

12:30 p.m. Sunday, April 9
Let's gather in the St. Peter's Churchyard for food, music & children's easter egg hunt on Easter Sunday! The celebration will begin immediately following the 11 a.m. Easter Worship Service. Bring a basket for the egg hunt!
