Finding Your Spark

As part of our Lenten Seeking series, this Sunday we welcome guest preacher and teacher, The Reverend Callie Swanlund. Rev. Callie describes herself as a wholehearted leader + spiritual companion called to guide people in finding your spark. What does that mean? Rev. Callie writes, “God has created you in God’s own image and calls you beloved child. Drawing on my experience as a priest and my training as a Certified Daring Way Facilitator in the work of Brené Brown, I can help you show up for your life and live bravely into your authentic and wholehearted self.”
Along with preaching during the 11 AM service, Rev. Callie will also tell us more about herself, her vocational journey, and her current ministry. About our Lenten Seeking Series:
This year, St. Peter’s is living into Lent through the theme of Seeking. Throughout his ministry, Jesus encounters people who are seeking: a new beginning, a different life, a deeper faith. In these interactions, an unveiling often occurs—assumptions are disrupted, a new perspective is revealed, mystery grows.
Like the characters in our Lenten scriptures, we are also seeking many things: clarity, connection, wonder, justice, balance. We are seeking our calling, the sacred, and how to live as a disciple. By focusing on this theme, we can unpack big questions in ways that are honest and faithful. Asking ourselves often: What am I seeking? What is God seeking?
To do that, it makes sense to spend some time with all-star seekers! Join Rev. Sarah as she dives into the writings and other resources of faith leaders are seeking a closer connection with God and neighbor in imaginative and authentic ways. These sessions will feature different approaches and formats, from presentations to small group conversations.
