Once again this fall, St. Peter’s will be observing a season of Creation. A season in which we remember, reflect on, and celebrate, this marvelous, magical world that God so loves. As part of our Creation celebration this year, we are going to create large fabric banners, dyed all the colors of God’s creation and adorned with images of stars, leaves, and animals. The banners will hang from the balconies in the church in October and November, during Creation season.
Fabric artist Marie Elcin is helping us with this project. She will dye the banners, and then together all parishioners are invited to stamp and paint images on the banners at an all-parish event at 10 a.m. Sunday, September 25. No artistic talent or experience is necessary! All parishioners of all ages are invited to come to the churchyard at this time to help us create these beautiful banners together.
