EXPLORING YOUR FAITH

We know God better as we pray together, learn together, share together, and serve together. The following groups and workshops serve to inform people who may be exploring St. Peter’s and to help them along their journey of faith.

Welcome Coffee & Conversation

Several times a year, St. Peter’s hosts Welcome Coffee & Conversation, an informal introduction to life at St. Peter’s Church and an opportunity for us to get to know one another. If you are considering making St. Peter’s your church home and would like to learn more about us, we invite you to attend this gathering. We meet at the Parish House at 313 Pine Street, across from the church. Email Parish Administrator Kate Randall if you’d like to join us for our next gathering.

Connecting Our Faith

St. Peter’s invites you to engage more deeply with your faith and community through a diverse array of educational programs. Guided conversations, Bible studies, and presentations given by experts in their fields provide opportunities for learning, growth, and spiritual exploration. Sunday morning offerings include brief thematic series as well as single sessions. All are cordially welcome. Come as often as your schedules and interests permit.

Sacred Ground

Sacred Ground is a film- and readings-based dialogue series on race, grounded in faith. Small groups are invited to walk through chapters of America’s history of race and racism, while weaving in threads of family story, economic class, and political and regional identity. Participants are invited to peel away the layers that have contributed to the challenges and divides of the present day – all while grounded in our call to faith, hope and love. This is an 11-part series that includes meeting together as well as breaking out in small groups. Read more here>

Foundations of Discipleship

This eight-week, small group class invites you to explore fundamentals of Christian faith and consider new ways of putting your faith into practice. In the class we cover eight subjects: Faith, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, the Church, Christian Discipline, the Bible, Prayer, and Eternal Life. We read the Bible together, discuss our own experience, and build a small group of twelve or so people who grow together in trust and fidelity.

Become a Member

In a special celebration three times year we welcome those who wish to become members of St. Peter’s. When the time feels right for you, we will be glad to welcome you!

Fellowship Groups

A means of connecting with others through open dialogue about our faith journeys, through shared interests and through mutual and loving support. We encourage you to join one of these groups and explore your faith in a supportive environment.
