Music

Music at St. Peter’s Church opens hearts and minds to the transforming power of Christ’s love. We value music as a dynamic spiritual force that enriches the lives of parishioners and visitors alike. We nurture the talents of our musicians of all ages, we reach through the universal language of music to our neighborhood and the broader community, and we welcome all to sing, play and enjoy making music to the glory of God.

There are always openings for new children (as young as first grade), youth, and adults in our choirs. If you are interested, please contact Director of Music Ministry Darryl Roland.

For Children:  The St. Peter’s Chorister Academy is the largest, liveliest, and most comprehensive children’s choir program in Philadelphia, offering a superlative music education to area boys and girls. Children as young as first grade can participate.

For Adults:  Our intergenerational choir is composed of men, women, boys, and girls—professionals and dedicated amateur singers who enjoy making great music together.

SING Philadelphia Summer Camp:  SING Philadelphia is a week-long summer choir camp for boys and girls entering grades 2-6. The camp provides an exceptional musical experience for children and youth who love to sing.” icon_link_text=”Learn more” icon_link_url=”https://stpetersepisco.wpengine.com/worship/music/choristeracademy/choir-camp/” icon_image=”830408″]

Music hits me so directly in my emotions that I believe it is one way that God calls to me. Music at St. Peter’s is wonderful. It gathers me in to the worship service. When I walk up to take communion and pass between the choir members as they sing, I feel that I am about as close to Heaven as I can be on this earth. – Jonathan Miller, parishioner
