SING Philadelphia, a summer choir camp for students who love to sing, is now receiving video/audio audition submissions! This year, we are accepting 24 campers who will be entering 2nd through 6th grades this coming fall.

After receiving both your completed form and audition, you will be contacted to schedule a Zoom meeting to discuss the camp in more detail.

Video Audition Instructions

Previous choir experience is not required to attend SING Philadelphia, but campers do need to match pitch reliably. So we ask that each camper submit a video or audio as your audition.

• Choose a song! Please choose between “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star” or “Happy Birthday.” Please do not sing any other song apart from these two choices. We need to assess applicants’ ability to learn songs by hearing another singer and singing it back. Listen to the recording of your chosen song. Practice by singing along to the recording several times until you are comfortable to sing on your own.

• Practice vocal sirens! Sing along to the following three recordings of vocal sirens. Sing on the vowel “oo.”

The Arch Siren (sing on the vowel “oo”)

The Top to Bottom Siren (sing on the vowel “oo”)

The Roller Coaster Siren (sing on the vowel “oo”)

• Ready, set, RECORD! When you are ready, record a video/audio of yourself. State your first and last name, then your age. Then sing the song of your choice (either Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star or Happy Birthday) by yourself (without the practice recording.) Then sing the three sirens — the arch, the top to bottom, and the rollercoaster by yourself (without the practice recording). You can use the camera on a phone or any other device to record the audio/video.
