A Fall Overnight Retreat: Cultivating Sabbath, October 28-30

wapitiHas life been feeling stressful to you lately? Do you need a reprieve from the daily grind? Have you been struggling to find adequate space and time to deeply connect with God and with yourself? Are you longing for quiet mornings overlooking clear blue waters, surrounded by fields and forests, and accompanied by birdsong?

A little over an hour from Philadelphia, at the headwaters of the Chesapeake Bay, sits a beautiful property owned by the Diocese of Pennsylvania where this kind of deep relaxation is possible. You’re invited to come spend a prayerful weekend in nature and in the company of others who are seeking deeper peace in their lives.

We’ll eat good food, get good sleep, and have ample space for both conversation and quiet time with one another and with God. The theme of our weekend will be “Cultivating Sabbath,” and we’ll be exploring a range of ways to live more spaciously and restfully, consciously embracing God’s sabbath rhythms. We’ll also begin to dismantle some of the barriers that prevent us from regularly keeping sabbath and from caring for our spiritual needs with attention and love.

The retreat will begin on Friday, October 28 at 5 PM and will end on Sunday, October 30 around 1 PM.  Please plan to participate in the entire retreat. The total price will end up being somewhere between $225-245 per person, depending upon how many people sign up. The price includes private rooms for each individual or couple (and private baths adjoining most rooms), 6 meals, and gratuity for table service. The Rev. Sean Lanigan, Associate Rector, will be the retreat facilitator. For more information and/or to sign up for the retreat, please contact Sean at [email protected]
