DESCRIPTION:The Revised Common Lectionary is a three year calendar of prescribed\, Scriptural texts that many Christian denominations\, including the Episcopal Church\, use for Sunday worship. The lectionary during Lent is particularly rich\, but it’s rare that a preacher can fit all four readings from the Hebrew Bible\, Psalms\, Epistle and Gospel into any 15-minute sermon. \nDuring Lent\, consider joining Rev. Laurie and the St. Peter’s Bible study regulars as they take an early\, deeper\, and lingering look at the upcoming Sunday readings.  Chances are these sacred texts and their connections to each other will enrich  your experience of the church’s Lenten journey through the wilderness of hope lost into new the promise of astonishing joy and new life. \nAll are welcome. DESCRIPTION:“We Believe…?” Lenten Study & Supper Group\n6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday evenings February 25 through March 18\nAt St. Peter’s Church & Christ Church: Click here to register \nThis Lent\, join folks from St. Peter’s and Christ Church for a thoughtful\, honest\, and welcoming evening Adult Forum exploring one of the most familiar (and often most puzzling) parts of our worship: the Nicene Creed. Over four Wednesday evenings\, we’ll ask real questions together: Why do we say the Creed? What’s hard about it? What’s life-giving? What do you believe? \nWhether you love the Creed\, struggle with it\, or aren’t sure why it matters at all\, your questions are not only welcomed—they’re essential. Each session includes dinner\, teaching\, and conversation\, moving from history and close reading to reflection and creativity\, and concluding with the chance to write your own creed in community. Come curious\, come skeptical\, come hungry—for food\, for community\, and for meaning. \nFor the program at Christ Church on February 25 & March 4:\n• Sessions will take place on the third floor of Christ Church Neighborhood House\, located at 20 N. American Street.\n• Parking is available for Christ Church on American Street. You can get a parking pass at the front desk of the Neighborhood House. There will also be a few spots in the parking lot at the end of Filbert. \nFor the program at St. Peter’s on March 11 & 18:\n• Sessions will take place in the parlor of the Parish House at 313 Pine Street.\n• Parking is available for St. Peter’s at the parking lot off Lombard Street\, just past the intersection with Third Street. Some spots might be available along Pine Street opposite the Parish House at 313 Pine. \nPlease click here to fill out a registration form if you plan to participate\, so we can plan to have enough supper for all. You do not have to attend all four sessions. \n
