Women’s Retreat: Listen to Me

Join us for a powerful and engaging women’s retreat centered on the newly released book, Listen to Me: The Women of the Bible Speak Out by Cordelia Biddle. This compelling book gives voice to often-overlooked biblical women. Through selected chapters, we’ll explore how these women’s stories resonate today—especially in spaces where women’s voices have long been marginalized.

Author (and St. Peter’s parishioner!) Cordelia Biddle will be with us to share her experience writing the book and lead us into a deeper conversation about the importance of women telling their stories, both ancient and modern. For each book chapter and biblical character we discuss, Rev. Sarah will offer biblical grounding using a womanist hermeneutic of suspicion—an approach that invites us to ask hard questions, seek deeper truths, and read Scripture with bold curiosity.

The retreat will include discussion, reflection, and shared learning. Our time together will end with a short Eucharist service. Participants are asked to register in advance and read specific excerpts of the book before attending. Details about specific chapters will be sent upon registering.
