What We Think We Know About Lent

February 16, 2020 @ 10:00 am - 10:50 am

Do you remember the first time you received ashes? Were you told you could eat fish in Lent? How many of you have given up chocolate for those 40 days? Come together to share what you remember about Lents past or what you’ve heard from others about this season. Those who want will be invited to share some of their favorite – and least favorite – aspects of Lent. Rev. Sarah Hedgis will lead a conversation about how we carry with us the helpful stuff we think we know about Lent, while letting ourselves set down those less helpful and even painful traditions too often associated with a season that is, like all seasons in the Church’s life, defined by God’s deep love for us.
