Often in our work for justice, we learn what is going on, we know and feel it is not right, and then…then what? We get stuck in this question, “What can we do to make real change?”
The Poor People’s Campaign has spent years researching and creating an answer to this always-get-stuck-in question: A Moral Policy Agenda to Heal America: The Poor People’s Jubilee Platform. Inclusive, sophisticated, researched, and detailed and, most of all, built based on the real life experiences of the crucified class of our time, this platform offers concrete and effective ways for us to make change that builds up the Kin-dom of God.
For six Sundays, we will dig into the PPC Jubilee Platform as a faith community. The first week we will outline the Preamble and Principles as well as share our questions and hopes around PPC and this platform. Each Sunday following, we will explore one of the five parts of the platform, digging into the specific demands and actions and processing as individuals and a community. Come to sessions ready to engage with music, interviews, and educational resources. The aim of this offering is to foster your own understanding, confidence, and excitement around a way forward together, not one step back!
