Agape Meal
August 31, 2020 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Part of our new rhythm of life is living more deeply into the Christian calendar, remembering and celebrating those who preceded us in faith, whether centuries or decades ago. On these saints days we will gather via Zoom and celebrate with a service of prayers as well as a meal practiced by ancient Christians in their homes, the agape meal, or love feast. Please join us as we walk in the footsteps of the saints.
- May 26: St. Augustine of Canterbury
- June 30: Sts. Peter and Paul
- July 22: St. Mary Magdalene
- August 31: St. Aidan of Lindisfarne and St. Columba of Iona
What is Agape? Agape reflects the love of God, and it is the kind of love that Christians are called to share with one another. The term is also used for a common meal or “Love Feast” of the early church, from which the eucharist developed as a separate rite.
All are welcome to join! To make sure our Zoom groups are secure and safe, we do not publicly list the Zoom Meeting IDs. To receive the Meeting ID for one of these Agape meals, please click here.
