SING Philadelphia is a week-long summer choir camp for boys and girls ages 7-12. The camp provides an exceptional musical experience for children and youth who love to sing. Under instruction of Director Dr. Darryl Roland, campers learn quality repertoire with special attention to breathing techniques, vowel formation and choral tone, sight singing and intonation, and music theory (written notation).
Camp runs from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. every day, with morning (8-9 a.m.) and afternoon (4-6 p.m.) extended care available. Registration costs $300, which includes lunch and snacks. Scholarships are available based on financial need.
Grouped by age, the campers receive musical instruction twice each day (in morning and afternoon), as well as daily drama classes led by talented staff from 1812 Productions and art classes led by experienced art teachers. On the final day of camp, families and friends are invited to attend a presentation from the campers featuring dramatic plays, choral anthems, and an art exhibit.
