Participants & Ministers
Participation is the essential ingredient of lively worship. Each person participates through his or her presence and prayers. There are many ways you can join and assist:
Acolytes
Process the cross and assist at the altar in preparation of Communion. Acolytes are usually young adults in grades 5 and up.
Altar Guild
Prepare the church and altar for worship and Communion.
Bell Ringers
Ring bells after Sunday servies.
Chalice Bearers
Assist at Communion with the distribution of wine. Also needed for Children's Service.
Choirs
Sing at the 11:00 Sunday service — open to children and adults.
Eucharistic Ministers
Take Communion to people who are ill or homebound on an as needed basis. Requires training and licensing from the Diocese.
Greeters
Welcome newcomers and others to services. Also needed for Children's Service.
Guides
Spend at least one two-hour period every month telling the history of the church to visitors. Training provided. Contact Libby Browne.
Lectors
Read the scripture lessons and Prayers of the People at services.
Ushers
Welcome and assist parishioners at services, take up the collection and count it.
Vergers
Guide and direct the flow of worship at 11:00, particularly as people come to receive Communion.
