St. Peter’s Food Cupboard
St. Peter's Food Cupboard has provided food for local families in need since 1987. We distribute supplemental bags of groceries to around 140 households weekly at 313 Pine Street on Saturday mornings from 8–10 a.m. A translator is available for our Chinese-speaking clients.
The Food Cupboard is managed by volunteers, including more than 50 parishioners as well as other members of the community. Volunteer opportunities include:
- Organizing food for distribution (Thursday evenings at 6pm)
- Distributing food (Saturday mornings at 7:45 am)
- Participating in the Walk Against Hunger each April
- Donating food or funds
- Sorting cans at Thanksgiving
- Collecting gloves for client Christmas gifts
- Interpreting for clients (Cantonese speakers)
- and more. . .
The Food Cupboard is a United Way Agency. Our donor number is 5490.
