Camp Get-Along
Camp Get-Along is a year-round day camp for children 3–12 years old, jointly operated by St. Peter's and St. John the Evangelist Episcopal Church at 3rd and Reed Streets in South Philadelphia. The mission of the camp is to provide a safe and happy place for children to learn the teachings of Christ through play, song and other creative activities.
Camp is held at St. John the Evangelist/Emanuel Church from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. the first Saturday of the month between October and June. A full time summer camp program is also available from July through the second week of August.
Volunteers for the camp are responsible for chaperoning children and engaging them in activities with their peers. Camp activities include drama exercises, singing, dancing arts and crafts, baking and the reading of Bible stories.
Volunteers are needed to:
- Lead and supervise the children
- Donate or provide funds toward the purchase of breakfast, snack and lunch food; SEPTA tokens for transportation; or supplies for camp activities
