The year 2018 is the 50th anniversary of the publication of Elisabeth Kübler-Ross’ “On Death and Dying.” Today’s talk will explore the shape and scope of the movement that this book started and how it opened up dying as a human experience, rather than solely a medical one. We will inquire about whether Kübler-Ross’ seminal text has changed Americans’ attitudes and practices in the ways that she and others had hoped. Our speaker, Dr. Lucy Bregman, is Professor of Religion at Temple University.
