Ledlie I. Laughlin
Rector

The Reverend Ledlie I. Laughlin was installed as the twentieth rector of St. Peter’s Church on May 1, 1999. After graduating from Oberlin College, he attended Berkley/Yale where he received his MDiv in 1987; he has served in urban parishes up and down the East coast. Ledlie is an energetic, enthusiastic, and creative pastor. His preaching is insightful, personal, and stimulating; he is a true evangelist. St. Peter’s Children’s Ministry has blossomed under his leadership, and he is active in seeking avenues for spiritual growth for all ages, and in welcoming newcomers to our parish. Ledlie’s faith is shaped by his deep desire and longing to be attentive to the presence of God; he shares that desire openly, invites others to awaken to their own desire for God, and leads by calling us forth to adventure and journey in the Way of Christ. St. Peter’s continues to grow and thrive under his loving care.

In addition to his ministry here, Ledlie is currently a member of the Standing Committee of the Diocese, is Co-Chair of the Diocesan Antiracism Team charged with dismantling institutional racism within the Diocese, and serves as a chaplain at Graterford Maximum Security Prison.

Ledlie’s wife Sarah is a Social Worker with the Wissahickon Hospice at the U Penn Health System; their daughter India and son Nick are students at Middlebury College in Vermont.
